UX Design

"Good design is actually a lot harder to notice than poor design, in part because good designs fit our needs so well that the design is invisble"

--Don Norman

Before starting on any UI design, I ask myself is "what does the user want to do" and "what is the easiest way for them to accomplish this"

Sometimes, a fresh, creative approach is the answer to this question, sometimes, time-honored, traditional approaches are the answer. I'm not afraid of a fresh approach, surmounting challenges and truly love to deliver a unique design that is still intuitive to use. However...imagine trying to find the "Save" button and it's not at the top-left of the window.

Unless your application has auto-save, there has to be a very compelling reason to move save elsewhere; users have been conditioned to expect that location and it would be jarring to find it elsewhere.

When working on UI/UX, I work with Product Managers and developers to find an intuitive solution that is seamless for users. I keep an eye on deliverable timelines and management expectations, while maintaining corporate style and user expectations.

As part of my role, I interview SMEs and work with stakeholders to ensure that new features are implemented in a timely manner. I have also followed-up with users to see how they feel about the implementation.
